Priorities

My Commitment to Ward 9:

Safer streets, Affordable living, a stronger Stoney Creek

  • RESTORE SAFETY‍ ‍ to our streets by advocating for more police presence in Ward 9 (presently only 2 officers are assigned for all of Ward 9 at night) and cracking down on dangerous and reckless driving.

-More officers on patrol in Ward 9 especially at night.

-Stop the proliferation of car thefts in our community.

-Listen to our resident’s complaints about safety and act on it.

-Provide Police the resources and locations of public complaints for targeted enforcement. ( Speeding - Ebikes - Dangerous Driving)

-Identify high-risk intersections, stop signs, and roadways, and take immediate action to improve safety through enhanced enforcement.

  • AS YOUR COUNCILLOR, I will use every financial and political tool available to severely limit or shut down the GFL Dump.

-Residents near GFL deserve better. After years of inaction, the City must take a stand, launch its own legal challenge, and hold GFL accountable for its impact on our community. Immediately!

-The community was promised a public school which has since been cancelled. I will work hard and persistently to ensure the school is built for our children.

-Constant monitoring of the odours and make sure ALL regulations are followed by GFL.

  • FIX WHAT’S BROKEN by accelerating road repairs and safety measures in making our streets safer and more reliable for families and drivers.

-New road surfacing, refreshed pavement markings, and traffic-calming measures (speed humps)to reduce speeding where appropriate.

-Rumble strips at every stop sign to ensure driver compliance.

-Improve winter maintenance, pothole repairs, and road-edge maintenance.

-Improve sidewalks, cycling infrastructure, and trail connections.

-Efficient snow removal on our streets

  • DRIVE REAL GROWTH by bringing in responsible private investment to build the housing and jobs our community desperately needs.

-Reduce the bureaucracy and increase the City’s ability to approve projects quickly to attract new investment and employment.

-Attract investment to Ward 9 in building much needed housing for our residents and business investment for local jobs.

-Work to ensure businesses hire local residents and youth. Youth unemployment is at 24%.

  • STAND UP FOR TAXPAYERS every single day by fighting the out of control spending and keeping property taxes from spiraling out of control as they have over the last 4 years! Property Taxes Up 22% since 2023. Water Rates up by 33%

-Financial audit of all city departments to drastically reduce waste.

-Bring Ward 9's property tax dollars back to Ward 9, where they belong, instead of continuing to prioritize downtown projects.

-Prioritize essential infrastructure projects and stop overspending that leads to higher taxes.

-Scrap the Rain Tax and Vacant Unit Tax.

-Enforce the City’s hiring freeze with zero new hires.

-Create a discount in Property Taxes for seniors on limited income to help cover maintenance costs for their residences.

With 26 years in law enforcement and leadership, I have spent my career solving problems under pressure, managing a team, and protecting communities. My single goal is to make Ward 9 the safest and most affordable Ward in Hamilton!
